Employee Intranet Page

Christine 5 years ago updated by Professor of Innovation 5 years ago 1

I'm new to the park district, so I'm not sure if we have something like this. Do we have an employee intranet type page that is like a one stop shop for employees to get information? Access is only for employees. Information would consist of emp. benefit summaries, forms, how to's for Springbrook access, links to web pages that are important (Innovation Lab), volunteer opportunities, parties and events, etc.

What do you want to know? What do you want to share?

Laura Finch 5 years ago updated 5 years ago 16

The Community Awareness Team needs your input! We’re compiling a list of Fun Facts/Did You Know Details/A Brag Board/General FAQs. We want to share more of the awesome things we do with you and the community but need your help. We don't know the things we don't know! Help us by throwing in on the following:

  • Is there a burning Park District question that you want to ask?
  • Is there something awesome that we do that you want others to know about?
  • Is there a question every resident asks that we could better answer?

Medallion Hunt Clue Videos

btingley 5 years ago updated by Tina Heidrich 4 years ago 4

It could be super fun if we record the medallion hunt clues at PrairieFest the year prior. Each clue could be read while the reader participates in a variety of fun PrairieFest events such as watching the dog (etc.) show, riding a carnival ride, getting a lemon shakeup, or petting the puppies!

Cloud based file storage for staff

Brian Everhart 5 years ago updated by Professor of Innovation 5 years ago 1

In today's mobile digital environment it would be helpful to be able to access files and directories from a variety of online devices and locations.  When weather causes issues or employees are on the road or traveling, to be able to securely access information could be of great benefit

mask shirts

Jen McFall 4 years ago updated by Rockie Veverka 4 years ago 2

It doesn't look like masks are going away anytime soon. I think we should have staff shirt made promoting the wearing of masks during class. We have so many creative employees, I'm sure we could come up with something super cute.

Free Conference Call Website

Cori Veverka 4 years ago 0

I was just collaborating with a few people from different agencies and we were on a conference call using /www.freeconferencecall.com/. It was an easy way to connect with a conversation and sharing the host's desktop.

I am always on the lookout for effective and efficient ways to share information and get feedback. This could be an option for topics that warrant more than an email, but maybe not a full leave-your-desk-and-drive-to-a-different-location meeting.

Let me know if anyone tries this and what you think!

Lighting for Safety Places

Anita Scheidecker 5 years ago updated by Professor of Innovation 4 years ago 4

Equip all "safety places" with either a flashlight or a plug in light to be used during a power outage or drill (i.e. tornado).  Will make things a little less scary for our preschool students and program participants.

OPD Circus for Pfest!

Cori Veverka 5 years ago updated by Professor of Innovation 4 years ago 12

Let's create entertainment for PrairieFest by offering programming in the Winter/Spring that teaches people how to be part of a circus act. Different departments could run classes or camps to instruct certain skills that could be showcased Father's Day Weekend. For example, Limelight could teach clowning. We could teach juggling or stilt walking. Gymnastics could do tumbling. Varied interest sewing classes could make costume pieces. We could have acts featuring performers of all ages!

Recycling Plastic Drums for Recycling

Zack Donati 5 years ago updated by KristieBV 4 years ago 7

Use old plastic drums at Prairie Point Community Park fields for recycling. Similar to the current garbage cans we use, but instead we could leave the lid on and cut the hole out to fit cans. We would use blue barrels and clearly mark them for recycling.

Figured this would be an easier system to recycle. It would be harder to contaminate recycling since the hole would fit cans only. High winds cause current recycling containers to knock down and blow around easily.
